Angvir the Wise

  • Name: Angvir the Wise

This older orc holds the rank of Court Mage in the city of Kogoth. He assists King Hjald in matters concerning magic, and is leader of the other orc mages of the Empire.


Baelar

This young orc serves under Commander Siegvaald, and shows much promise as an up and coming officer.

He once saved his commander's life when the unit was ambushed by a large pack of raptors. In the course of this desperate skirmish, Siegvaald became overwhelmed by their numbers, and together with several others were pinned and fighting for their lives. Seeing that the raptors were taking their cues from one raptor in particular, Baelar was able to single out the matriarch, and with a furious leap launched himself on her back and drove a dagger through the back of her skull. The raptors now leaderless, fell or ran shortly after.

During the The Sleeping Gods Campaign, the companions first encountered Baelar and his unit in a small village not far out of Kogan-zor. They had been in pursuit of a pack of raptors that had escaped the valley, which the companions had already fought and defeated to protect the village.

Impressed by his scars, rank, intelligence, and potential for further honors he may receive, Ylva took a fancy to him. Every time they happen to meet after, they make sure to make some time alone for extracurricular maneuvers.

Eventually after Ylva and Tevega succeeded in finally bringing down The Betrayer, Ylva announced her intentions to Baelar and presented him with a mighty blade. Ylva and Baelar were granted the privilege of becoming permanently mated despite the current rules in regards to breeding due to her efforts for The Empire. It is Ylva's intent to have as many children as possible with Baelar while she otherwise fulfills her Skald duties.


Lt. Barzuk

This orc is the Lieutenant of the Home Guard of Kogoth. Together with several other members of the Home Guard, he escorted the companions of The Sleeping Gods Campaign on their ambassadorial trip to Deephome.


Chief Bjorn

Chief Bjorn rules over the clan in the Iron Mountains, serving directly under Chief Hjald.


Corporal Hilgrind

During The Sleeping Gods Campaign, the companions uncovered a dastardly plot of subversion by vampires in the elven village of Moonglow while in pursuit of the sleeping god Arcanaeous. During this time, Ylva and Tevega were tasked with being on their best behavior, and to avoid violence against the elves at all costs, knowing it was the only way to access the portal needed to show them the next clue.

Because of their efforts, the elves of Moonglow decided to become a protectorate of Kogad-zor, and began the process of non hostile negotiations with the Imperial Orcs. A unit was to be sent to Moonglow to keep to the orc's pledge of protection, and it was up to Ylva and Tevega to put together this unit.

Many young recruits were eager to be chosen for this unit, and so the twins scouted out the most promising, and had them test their skills against each other in combat. Hilgrind, though much smaller than many of the other candidates, proved to be far more clever, and took out opponents twice his size.

Due to his skill and intelligence, Ylva and Tevega decided to not only take him for the Moonglow Unit, but also to make him Corporal.



Major Hulgen

The companions of The Sleeping Gods Campaign found themselves in Castledown, in the Kingdom of Highland, while in pursuit of the shards of the Godslayer. While staying in the Gray Fort Inn, Ylva and Tevega were drawn to this large, scarred, and impressive orc, although he resisted both of their passes at him initially, claiming he had to be up early to meet his unit for maneuvers in the morning.

Far from a quiet night however, the companions were under siege as a legion of Night Hounds descended upon the city, targeting them in particular. Hulgen took command of the defense of the inn immediately, rallying those patrons able to fight and organizing them, as the others took shelter in the cellar. Thanks to his fighting prowess, as well as that of the companions, and the defensible nature of the inn itself, the companions were able to fight off the hounds, slay the pack alpha, and unmask the chaos mage behind the attack.

Upon a return trip to Castledown after assisting King Willam to get to the bottom of some unrest in one of his mining towns, Major Hulgen and his unit were still in the area running maneuvers, and Ylva and Tevega were able to wind down with some horizontal ground maneuvers. Shortly after however, the twins began to become suspicious of the fact that strong and capable soldiers of the Empire keep showing up in their quest to offer assistance when necessary ...



Private 1st Class Grezchen & Gretta

These two young cousins were among the recruits chosen for the special Moonglow unit, along with Hulgen, for their intelligence and combat skill. Grezchen was especially loud and forceful, along with being a massive brute of a woman, and was chosen to serve under Hulgen as private 1st class to keep the rest of the unit in line. Gretta is her cousin, and the two of them work together splendidly when not bickering.


Grimark

  • Kingdom: Kogad-zor

This older officer is the fierce taskmaster given the duty of Officer Training in the city of Kogoth.


Commander Siegvaald


In the very beginning of the campaign, shortly after the companions of The Sleeping Gods Campaign met in a small village not far outside of Kogad-zor, they aided in the evacuation of the village due to the approach of a rouge pack of raptors. The companions were able to defeat the raptors in combat, with only a few escaping, and when they pursued, ran into the scarred and impressive Commander Siegvaald and his men. They had been in pursuit of this rouge pack themselves, and after stayed on in the village to aid in repairs, as the raptors had escaped Kogad-zor, and they felt it their duty.

Several adventures kept the companions in the area, and Siegvaald worked with them as a contact of the Empire before the companions' adventures allowed them to enter. When Torvig, another orc that had been staying in the village, was going to take credit for some of Ylva and Tevega's deeds, and treacherously tried to kill them when ousted, Siegvaald himself stepped in, and personally marched him to Kogad-zor to answer for his misdeeds.

Throughout their adventures, the companions have run into Commander Siegvaald and his men several times. Being one of the most talented and esteemed commanders, Hjald often puts him into good use out in the field.


Torvig

Torvig was working as a traitor to the Empire, and was found conspiring with the Frost Giants and Gruumsh in an effort to bring it down. Ylva and Tevega were able to quickly suss out his nefarious plot, and Hjald punished him most severely until he was eventually executed.
