Slaying the Beast

Alone, the warrior tracked the beast,

For the task was his to

Destroy

That which had been tormenting his

People.

Silently crept he

Through the decay

Of a once mighty fortress

Into the lair

Of the dread creature.

Then suddenly,

Confronted he,

A Beast of Darkness

Dripping fangs, sloping brow,

Eyes of fire all aglow,

And with dreaded intonation It

Inquired;

"Who are you, who trespass here?

That you are worthy

Of defeating me?"

And with weapon drawn,

Iron determination lacing

His Words

He Responded:

"I am Orc.

And the blood of a hundred warriors

Courses through my veins.

Through my actions

I seek to do them

Proud.

I am Orc.

My honor is my

Shield,

My word is my

Bond.

I shall not falter.

I am Orc.

My strength of arm,

And strength of mind

Will see me through

Bloody battle, fiercest foe

I shall not fall.

I am Orc.

And the heart of my People,

My Tribe,

Beats with the fury

Of a thousand

Drums.

We are Orcs.

And no longer

Will you haunt our

Halls,

Break down resolve,

You have no Power here."

With mighty stroke

His weapon smashed,

A resounding crash

Echoed through the empty Hall,

And from the broken mirror shards,

A warning whispered forth;

"I am Orc.

And I'm defeated now

But stay

Aware

For the beast lay within us

All."
