RadiaDroid is an Android application that simulates the portable radiation detector Intensimeter 28 civ, UN/ADR-13 and SRV 2000. and uses virtual radioactive sources, defined by GPS coordinates, radionuclide and activity. When field source is chosen the source has a radius.
The trainees load a scenario and search the exercise area for radioactivity. The locations of sources and safety perimeters are reported. Creation of scenarios is possible in the application, but is facilitated in a PC tool that also presents the reports and the dose to the trainee.
RadiaDroid as an app for Android is available on Google Play
RadiaDroid as a PC Tool for presentation and creation of scenarios is available here and a manual for instructors (in Swedish) for both the app and the PC Tool here. The app is intended and designed to be used without any separate written instructions.
The screen capture below shows a presentation of a trainee's search and report from a scenario replayed in 20x speed. Note the dose and dose rate indications during the replay.
