I currently hold a Marie-Sklodowska Curie Individual Fellowship, obtained through the very competitive Marie-Sklodowska Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship call.
Our project, FIDELITY (Fairness and Explanations in Group Recommender Systems. Towards Trustworthiness and transparency), is developed at University of Jaén , under the supervision of Prof. Luis Martínez, and a set of experienced researchers from University of Jaén, the DASCI institute, and Maastricht University at the Netherlands. More details on FIDELITY can be checked at our dedicated page fidelityuja.eu, and through social media in x.com.
Formerly I received the PhD degree in Technical Sciences (Computer Science) from Central University of Las Villas, Cuba, with a thesis entitled “Data preprocessing methods for collaborative filtering recommender systems”. During my PhD studies I also completed an Erasmus Mundus pre-doctoral research stay. I was also a Fundación Carolina postdoctoral fellow (2021), and a María Zambrano fellow (2022-2024). Previously, I was Professor at University of Ciego de Ávila, Cuba, from 2011 to 2022.
We are currently performing theoretical and applied research in the field of recommender systems, currently a mainstream research field in information technologies. Our research work has been published in several journals and conferences proceedings, most of them indexed in major databases such as Clarivate Analytics Web of Science and Scopus.
Three featured research papers that present my ongoing research are:
Exploring post-hoc agnostic models for explainable cooking recipe recommendations. Knowledge-Based Systems, 251, 109216, 2022. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.knosys.2022.109216.
A fuzzy content-based group recommender system with dynamic selection of the aggregation functions. International Journal of Approximate Reasoning, 150, 273-296, 2022. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ijar.2022.08.015.
Content-based group recommender systems: A general taxonomy and further improvements. Expert Systems with Applications, 184, 115444, 2021. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.eswa.2021.115444.
Overall, my research interests are:
-Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery
-Trustworthy recommender systems
-Data preprocessing methods for recommender systems (natural noise)
-Rule-based recommendations
-Development of recommender systems for programming online judges
