Rachel's remains were buried on November 7, 2015--about one year after her death--at the Cool Spring Natural Cemetery, which is on the grounds of the Holy Cross Abbey in Berryville, Virginia. The setting, which is in a meadow overlooking the Shenandoah River flowing below the Blue Ridge Mountains, is one that we think Rachel would have enjoyed. In her youth, she attended a summer camp in the Blue Ridge Mountains about 30 miles south of the cemetery, and that was one of her favorite spots as a youngster.
A documentary film for public television was made about the cemetery and the abbey grounds. It is called Saving Place, Saving Grace. We have seen it and highly recommend that you do, too, if you get the chance. You can find further information about the film and the trailer for the film here. And you can see the film at this link: Saving Place, Saving Grace.
The same company that made Saving Place, Saving Grace--Picture Farmer Films--made another film Images of Place and Grace, which is about the cemetery grounds and the artists who like to paint there. You can see this film here. Rachel's headstone is shown at 1 minute and 23 seconds into this video. Some background on the video is available at this link: http://picturefarmerfilms.com/summer-art-series-culmination/.
