Queer Readers welcomes 2026!
Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday 21st September 2026 at 6.30pm in the New Farm Library meeting room.
This month is generally the month in which we celebrate Pride in Brisbane...except this year it's not! However, we will continue on with our theme of "(Be) Happy Pride!" which are comedy/ contemporary books with queer protagonists or authors, designed to bring a smile to your face and give you something to cheer about!
There are multiple copies and media types in the BCC Library service:
‘The Pairing’ by Casey McQuiston, 2024. 432 pages, 8 copies.
‘Might Cry Later’ by Kay Kerr, 2025. 344 pages, 6 copies.
‘Greta & Valdin’ by Rebecca K Reilly, 2021. 352 pages, 15 copies.
The second half of the meeting, if time allows, will be a general discussion about any other recommendations for Queer books, movies, streaming, or events in our local community.
Don't forget to vote for your favourite Queer Read to help us compile the Dec/Jan reading list, the theme of which is "Best Of Bookclub". There is a poll on the Queer Readers Social FB page, or send in your votes via email. Nominate your favourite Queer Readers classic - even if it has been covered before!
Everyone welcome, just turn up.
Stay well and happy reading :-)
