The electrics fall into three main areas:
DCC is employed via a Prodigy Advance Squared control unit with hand-held controllers attached via sockets located around the layout. The sockets used and the cabling to connect to the control unit is the ordinary CAT 5.
Locos have chips, mainly from Bachman and Tsunami. Sound decoders are being added as funds permit.
This is via a standard switch panel driving Tortoise point motors.
The 15 points of the fiddle yard are driven from an apparently standard switch panel. However the signal is delivered in DCC mode via a diode matrix, Model Electronics Group (MERG) control unit and four point application modules incorporating capacitor discharge units.
