The summer program is aimed at students that are transitioning from lower to upper division classes. Participating students will build the confidence to take advanced undergraduate courses before graduation so they can be prepared for the rigor of graduate mathematics studies.
Students in the PUMP Summer Program will:

Here are some comments from students who have attended previous programs:
“This program was amazing. I knew I would be learning advanced mathematics, but I ended up learning so much more.”
“I had a lot of fun. It reminded me how much I enjoy doing mathematics. It also encouraged me to seriously consider graduate school in math, something I never thought I would consider.”
“I feel so much more confident in my future educational goals. This program is just fantastic in giving a dynamic viewpoint on mathematical options.”
“I really enjoyed the program and found it to be very beneficial.
I wish I had known about this program a few years earlier in my academic career.”
“I felt this program informed me a lot and better prepared me for the analysis class I plan to take this year.
It definitely gave a clear idea on what to expect in Master’s, PhD, or research programs.”
“Before entering the program I knew I wanted a PhD, but I had a lot of fear that I would not be capable and was creating so many back-up plans that had nothing to do with what I really had passion for. My mind is set now and I know I will not settle for less than earning a PhD. Thank you for this opportunity.”
