Our laboratory is using an interdisciplinary approach that includes cellular and molecular biology, mouse genetics, and immunological and biochemical methods. As we continue to study the non-canonical function of the Mast cell, we have begun to integrate our basic research with an understanding of the regulation of the immune system and its failure in the control of the development of autoimmune disease or tumor recognition. We anticipate that the results of our studies will have a broad impact on both basic science and translational cancer biology and autoimmune disease.
