2018-19 PTA Welcome Packet

  3. Send in your Spirit Wear & Firefly Card Form - See the offers online
  4. Start Collecting Box Tops - Print your form in English or Spanish

Current Volunteer Opportunities:

  1. Sign ups for event help
  2. Two New Vice President Positions open: VP of Fundraising & VP of Programs, See below for more info.
  3. Translate Documents - If you are interested in this contact Amy Bailey  
    • We are also looking for parents who can help translate our PTA information and documents into other languages. 
  4. Join (or lead) a Committee
    • Open leadership opportunities or send in a Volunteer Interest Form to join a committee or email our President, TJ Willis
    • Vice President of Programs: Assists with program planning along with chairs of the committees
    • Vice President of Fundraising: Assists with our loyalty programs, spirit nights, spirit wear and other fundraisers

Don't forget these two items:

  1. Identify one way in which you can volunteer your talents. 
    • If you are interested in jumping into a leadership role (Current position vacancies), contact us and let us connect you with the right opportunity. 
    • Sign up to help in the school, at an event, from home. Keep an eye on our Current Volunteer Opportunities:

  2. Sign up in the office to be a registered WCPSS volunteer.
    • Takes about 15 minutes for first time registration and less than 5 minutes for renewal.
    • Head over to the Ballentine Elementary School website to learn more about volunteering and the WCPSS requirements. 
Join us at our next PTA Meeting - August 2018
    • Meetings are Mondays 6pm (except October) in the Media Center. Children are welcome. 
      • General Membership Meetings: August 20th, October 24th (Wednesday, 5pm), January 14th, March 18th, May 20th
      • Board Meetings: July 16th, September 17th, November 19th, February 18th, April 15th
      • Officer Transition: June 17, 2019

Spirit Wear & Firefly Cards - Ongoing Sales
The 2018-19 Firefly card and spirit wear is available now. Order forms went home in the welcome packet.

BOX TOPS - BOX TOPS - BOX TOPS - 10 cents adds up!

Thanks for sending in those Box Tops for our October Collection and Submission. We collect them year round in the PTA BoxTops mailbox in the main lobby. Now is a great time to keep your eyes peeled for Box Tops with Spring and End of year baking and the super BONUS BOX TOPS. Ask a friend or relative to collect for you as well. Every 10cents helps fund programs you love at Ballentine. 

We need your help! There is still time to support your PTA. 

  1. Reward Ballentine PTA for the things you already do. Passive Fundraising brings in over $2000 a year to our budget.
  2. Get your Firefly Card for $10 and start saving at area businesses. Its good at 20+ locations and a great value. 
  3. Join the PTA. $8 per individual and dues include membership in Ballentine PTA, NCPTA and National PTA. 
    • The goal is 150 members (10 for each year of Ballentine!) - We are 84 members strong as of March 1, 2018
