Each golfer playing on the day will be awarded Golfer of the Year (G.O.Y.) points, subject to the following conditions;
You MUST complete your round
You MUST submit a scorecard
Plus and Minus points WILL NOT be taken into account for G.O.Y. - Actual Stableford score to count.
Your best five scores from the six possible outings from April to September inclusive will be counted.
The Scramble in March and the Overnighter in October do not count for G.O.Y.
Official GUI and LGUI handicaps will be used for all outings.
Any player with a "Society" handicap will have their handicap reviewed prior to The Scramble in March.
Their 2022 handicap will be subject to ongoing review by the Committee and their handicap may be increased or reduced as the year progresses.
Pairings for the final qualifying outing in September will be determined by your position in the G.O.Y. table.
e.g. Players positioned 1 to 4 will play together. 5 to 8 will play together and so on.
In the event of a tie on any given outing, the "Count-back" system will be used to determine the winner of that outing and allocate G.O.Y. points
In the event of a tie in the overall G.O.Y. position after the final outing in September, the highest score from the final outing will be used to determine the winner. If the scores are still level, the "Count-back" system will then be used to determine the overall winner.
In the unlikely event that there is still no clear winner, the scores from the August outing will then be examined and so on.
