Vacation Bible School(VBS) is an important part of our yearly ministry to our own children at PRPC, as well as to the children in our community. We are committed to providing all children with a fun, scripture-based experience, in which they are able to strengthen and cultivate friendships with others in the faith. Our hope is that your child makes new friends, hears of God's love for us through the scriptures, and has a blast participating in VBS!
Our curriculum is tailored specifically for the children. All age levels learn the same Bible verse and hear the same Bible story (as presented by our talented storytellers). However, each age level is presented with varying depths of content by our skillful teachers.
Each day at VBS begins with a morning assembly in the sanctuary. All age levels participate in singing,a mini-lesson on the day's Bible verse and story, and an update on our mission opportunity.
Following our opening assembly, each age level breaks off to participate in their scheduled activities. The activities include storytelling, crafts, scripture memory games, recreation, and snack time. All activities provide opportunities for children to make friends, learn about the scripture, and have fun!
Each day ends with a closing assembly in the sanctuary. All age levels join to sing energetic songs, watch a silly skit, and learn about the day's Bible lesson via an object lesson, usually presented by one of the pastors.
At the end of the week (Friday evening), we celebrate the week with a Closing Program where each class demonstrates something they have learned, we sing songs, and watch a video summary of our week. Afterward, the whole family is invited to an ice cream social!
