PROUD is organized for the educational, emotional, intellectual, and social support of the parents and families of gifted children, as well as the children themselves, and to serve as an advocate to its constituency and membership. Its primary purposes are:
1. Identify, sponsor and/or provide extra-curricular academic and social opportunities for the gifted students of the Dublin Schools;
2. Provide a forum for communication amongst the parents of Dublin’s gifted students, whereby they can share ideas, concerns, and information, as well as serve as a support network amongst themselves when dealing with issues and situations that can arise when raising a gifted child;
3. Equip parents with the best possible resources for coaching their gifted children on a day-to-day basis; and
4. Serve as an advocate for the gifted children of the School District by actively interfacing with the teachers, principles, curriculum directors and the School Board and supporting their efforts in ensuring that the gifted children of Dublin have every opportunity to maximize their learning experiences, both in and out of the school setting.
