Abstract
John and Maulik present a report on the 1st U.S. Semantic Technologies Symposium (US2TS), held at Wright State University, Dayton OH, from March 1-2. The goal of the Symposium was to bring together the U.S. Semantic Web community and begin forming a research network. The Symposium had panels on Cross-cutting Semantic Technologies (heavy focus on Knowledge Graphs), Publishing and Retrieving Tools, and SW research in domains such as Life Sciences, Geography and Materials Sciences. They also had a poster session (where John and I presented our posters) and Breakout sessions to discuss 3-4 main task (increasing visibility of US SW teams, making SW tools more available to broader community, facilitating domain researchers etc.).
