God commanded Moses to take the people of God to the Land of Canaan, the land He had sworn unto Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. It was a land flowing with honey and milk. When the children of Israel pitched in the wilderness of Paran, God commanded Moses to send spies into the land of Canaan.Accordingly, Moses deputed one man from each tribe under the leadership of Joshua to the said land. The spies searched the land for 40 days.During their search, they cut down a branch with one cluster of grapes which they bare it between two upon a staff and also brought pomegranates and fruits of the figs (Num.13:23).Though the team of spies brought with them the evidence of the good things of the land, they with the exception of Joshua and Caleb, brought an evil report.Their report focused on the might of the inhabitants of the land whom they described as men of a great stature (Num,13:32).But, Joshua and Caleb presented a good report on the land saying, It is an exceeding good land..a land which floweth with milk and honey (Num.14:7-8).When the spies other than Joshua and Caleb trusted in their own strength for possessing the land by driving out the inhabitants, Joshua and Caleb said, If the Lord delight in us, then He will bring us into this land, and give it us.. (Num.14:8).

There is also a Promised Land for the people of God redeemed by the Blood of Christ Jesus under the New Covenant. The New Testament Book of Hebrews speaks of a rest to the people of God (Heb.3:16-19 and 4:1-12). The people of Israel under the Old Covenant could not enter in the Promised Land "because of unbelief". He who "is entered into His rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from His. Let us labour, therefore, to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief". Out of the thousands of people delivered from the bondage of Egypt, only two people i.e. Joshua and Caleb along with a remnant of the people of Israel i.e. the little ones entered the Promised Land (Num.14:30-33). God was grieved with the people of Israel for forty years.

There is also a reference to "the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem" in Heb.12:22. We, the people of God, under the New Covenant have come unto the heavenly Jerusalem, the Promised Land.

In this Web-Site, the author is inspired by the Holy Ghost to publish messages on the blessings of Zion, the Promised Land on the basis of the Word.
