Dr. Debani Prasad Mishra is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department at the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Bhubaneswar, and held the position of Head of Department (HOD) from 2021 to 2024. With over 15 years of experience spanning industry, academia, and research, he holds a PGDC in Thermal Power from NPTI, Nagpur (2008), an M.Tech in Power Systems from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi (2010), and a Ph.D. in Power Systems from Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Odisha.
Dr. Mishra has supervised four Ph.D. scholars to completion and currently mentors two more in areas including power system protection, MPPT techniques for microgrid-connected photovoltaic systems, power quality enhancement, electric vehicles and smart electric power distribution systems. He is a prolific researcher with over 70 publications in high-impact SCI and Scopus-indexed journals (Taylor & Francis, Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, IJPEDS, etc.), five Indian patents, and more than 90 IEEE conference papers, along with contributions to book chapters and Springer book series.
His research contributions have garnered over 1,420 citations on Google Scholar, with an h-index of 19 and an i10-index of 39. He was honored with the Institute of Research Young Scientist Award 2023 for his outstanding contributions in Electrical Engineering and has received Best Paper Awards at the EPREC-2021 and SIGMA-2018 conferences.
In addition to his research, Dr. Mishra actively reviews for leading international journals from publishers including IEEE, IET, Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, and Taylor & Francis. He has also taken on various institutional responsibilities, including serving as a Senate member, and committee member for admissions, curriculum development, and NIRF ranking enhancement. Dr. Mishra is a sought-after speaker and has delivered numerous more than 25 invited talks on topics such as power quality, smart grids, renewable energy systems, power system protection, and electric vehicles.

He has received the B.Tech. in electrical engineering from (O.S.M.E Keonjhor (Govt. Engineering college)) Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Odisha, India.
