This seminar examines some of the key leaders throughout human history, including important social activists, religious leaders, and political thinkers and their reflections on poverty, wealth, and social change.
RS 037 History of World Christianity
This course explores the historical development of Christianity with particular attention to the key developments and conflicts, as well major institutions and figures throughout world Christianity. Main topics to explore will include: orthodoxy vs. heresy, martyrdom, monasticism, papacy, crusades, church-state relations, role of women, Scripture, biblical interpretation, Protestant and Catholic reforms, mission movements and colonialism, and various global Christian movements in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
