SPECIATED MULTIPOLLUTANT GENERATOR
An emission inventory is developed for India based on an engineering model approach using technology-linked energy-emissions modelling to estimate multi-pollutant emissions. An engineering model approach goes beyond fuel divisions and uses technology parameters for process and emissions control technologies, including technology type, efficiency or specific fuel consumption and technology-linked emission factors (g of pollutant/kg of fuel) to estimate emissions.
Monthly emissions have been estimated for five sectors : Energy, Industry, Transport, Domestic and Agricultural residue burning for the following species:
BC
OC
PM2.5
SO2
NOx
NMVOCs
CO
Anthropogenic mineral matter
The data is spatially resolved into 0.25 deg x 0.25 deg. It is available in "ASCII" format as text files along with the "README" describing the details of the emission.
SMoG-India V0, (GBD-MAPS India 2018 and Venkataraman et al., 2018) is now superseded by SMoG-India V1.
