1.- Graduated with Magna-cum-laude distinction during the M.Sc. studies at IVIC. At the same time, A.J. Müller was the first amongst all graduates (including all science subjects) in 1984.
2.- Since 1994, invited speaker at several National and International Polymer Conferences.
3.- National Science Award “Lorenzo Mendoza Fleury”, conferred by “Fundación Polar” in 1995. This National Science award is highly prestigious in Venezuela and it is conferred every two years to 5 Venezuelan scientists in all areas of science for their outstanding contributions to basic and applied research.
4.- Award “José Francisco Torrealba”, conferred annually by the Association of Faculty Members, Universidad Simón Bolívar, for outstanding achievements in research, 1996.
5.- Award “Andrés Bello”, conferred annually to the best scientific publication in Applied Sciences and Engineering by the Association of Faculty Members, Universidad Simón Bolívar, 1997.
6.- Award “Premio a la Destacada Labor Docente, AñoAcadémico 96-97, Categoría: Profesor Titular”, conferred every two years by Academic Vice-rectorate, Universidad Simón Bolívar, for achievements in teaching in several categories. Category: Full Professor. Best teacher award at USB for the academic year Sept. 96- July 97.
7.- Classified as “LEVEL IV Researcher” (maximum level) since February 2003 by the Applied Sciences and Engineering Commission of the National Promotion of Research Plan in Venezuela (PPI). This was a National system for the promotion of research in Venezuela, where all researchers are classified according to their credentials and scientific production. From the approximately 2500 scientists (approximately 750 in applied science and engineering) that were classified in Venezuela as qualified researchers only 10 had achieved a Level IV position in the field of Applied Sciences and Engineering (and only 3 at USB) by 2009. The PPI was replaced by a new system called PEII in 2011 (Plan de Estímulo al Investigador) with a similar purpose. A.J. Müller was classified as RESEARCHER C (maximum level).
8.- Award conferred in March 2006 as the most productive Venezuelan scientist working in a national university in the period 2000-2005. Conferred by the associations of Venezuelans university research councils.
9.- Arturo Uslar Pietri Award conferred by a national committee in July 2007, Caracas, Venezuela. This award recognizes scientific productivity and excellence.
10.- Nominated to the National Academy of Engineering and Habitat of Venezuela in June 2008. Habilitation research completed and delivered in February 2009. Officially accepted as “Corresponding Member of Miranda State” in the National Academy of Engineering and Habitat of Venezuela since July 2009.
11.- Editorial board member of European Polymer Journal since 2008.
12.- Recipient of the "Paul J. Flory Polymer Research Prize" awarded by the Polychar Organization on March 23, 2011 during the conference "Polychar 19: World Forum on Advanced Materials" at Kathmandu, Nepal.
13.- Editor for Polymer Physics and Technology of the EUROPEAN POLYMER JOURNAL since Nov. 2014.
14.- "Andrés Bello" Award to the scientific work in the area of Basic Sciences, Association of Teachers of the USB, 2013. This award is presented annually by the APUSB as a prize for the best scientific work in three areas of knowledge.
15.- In September 2013, the Board of Directors of the Simón Bolívar University (USB) approved to confer the honorary title of EMERITUS PROFESSOR to A.J. Müller (see http://usbnoticias.info/post/27828). The title was delivered to him in a solemn ceremony on January 16, 2014 in the auditorium of the Simón Bolívar University. A.J. Müller became Professor Emeritus number 15 for that date since the creation of the USB in 1967.
16.- Invited to present the conference "IUPAC lecture (2015-2016) at the Department of Chemistry, University of Montreal", 21st October, 2105. "The IUPAC Lectures in Chemistry stem from the venue of the IUPAC International Symposium on Macromolecules in Montreal in 1990, attended by more than 2200 scientists The endowment allows the Department of Chemistry of the Université de Montréal to invite renowned scientists who have made pioneering contributions in the field of macromolecular chemistry The IUPAC lecture takes place every two years since 2005.
17.- “Invited Professor” at the Institute of Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (ICCAS) at Beijing (China) for one month (June 2016); 1 week in 2017 and 3 weeks in 2018. Invited by Prof. Dujin Wang from the CAS Key Laboratory of Engineering Plastics to perform research in collaboration with his group and deliver a 15 h course on “Polymer Crystallization”. Funded by: CAS President’s Internacional Fellowship Initiative (PIFI) (No. 2016VMA010).

22.- Winner of the “Zhongguancun Award for International Cooperation 2022”, awarded in July 2023. Set up in 2019, the Zhongguancun Award for International Cooperation is one of the Beijing Science and Technology Awards aiming to encourage foreigners to conduct international scientific and technological exchanges, cooperate with national organizations, and elevate Beijing's international scientific innovation and global influence. The nomination to the award was made by Prof. Guoming Liu from ICCAS (Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing). Since 2013, Prof. A.J. Müller has been collaborating in the field of Polymer Physics with the following scientists from ICCAS: Dujin Wang, Guoming Liu, Xia Dong and Yunlan Su.
