The Proctor-Silex JUICIT is a juicer made from the 1960s through the 70s.
This vintage juicer features a 125 Watt motor and a porcelain reamer.
In my quest to replace my juicer which died after 50 years of continuous service, I discovered that there were several versions made, some with subtle differences.
Early versions of this electric juicer was originally manufactured by the Chicago Electric Division of Silex. In the 1960, Silex merged with Proctor Co. and became today's Proctor-Silex.
The common "base" models that I found were:
Model No 2700
Model No 2710
Model No 2710-C
Model No 2721
Model No 2722 (From the early 70's)
This juicer is usually found with a white bowl and a passive seed strainer.
This model does not have the notched sleeve to hold the vibratory strainer.
The example above is a nice chrome finished unit.
Model No 2738 (Starflite)
is exactly like 2721, but was branded Starflite (a themed line for Proctor Silex)
Model No 8515
Model No 85102 (Circa 1974)
This juicer had a couple notable changes from the previous model.
It has the notched plastic sleeve on the shaft to hold the new vibratory strainer.
It featured sloped angles on the metal bushing underneath the sleeve to help drippings from collecting. (Compare to model above)
It replaced the ceramic collection bowl with a rugged plastic version.
J101W and J101WA (Circa 1975)
These are undoubtedly the most common models, and they introduced the rubber seal at the bottom of the shaft (replacing the metal sleeve)
J101WA from 1975
Some versions of the J101W came with an alternative plastic vibratory strainer
J108HA (Introduced in 1976)
This model has very little visible difference from the J101W(A) but features the classic 'Starflite' script on the bottom half of the base.
Model 360-834800 (Sears Roebuck & Co, 1980's)
