The obligations of Social Scientists, especially Sociologists, are not only to the academia but also, and more importantly, to the society at large and involve exposing systemic sloth and fault lines in State, Society, Polity, and Governance, and critiquing system maintenance and system change through the Press and other important channels such as Internet Portals.
d) Activities in brief
Reading, writing and dissemination of socially relevant and useful knowledge, especially concerning social injustices and inadequacies and discriminatory and exclusionary practices of which the lower strata have been victims in various forms with varying intensity in different societies through "Social Closures" conjured up by the upper strata, especially those wielding dominance and state power.
