1996 Minutes
The 64th annual edition of the Pritchard Reunion was held on July 7, 1996. For the second year in a row, Bing Thompson graciously hosted the event at the homestead in Alcove, Quebec.
It was cloudy to begin with, and then it started to rain (commonly referred to as Pritchard sunshine). There were nonetheless the traditional games for the kids, organized by Linda Lennox and Margo Ciarabellini, and, of course, good food for all.
Business Meeting
President Don Finless opened the meeting, and thanked Bing, Jim and Brenda Thompson, Norman and Hilda Gillen, and Marjorie Pritchard.
Bing gave a brief history of the Pritchard family.
As there was no recording secretary for the 1995 meeting, there were no minutes read. However, Sandra Zed-Finless provided a humorous update.
Elections were held, with Rick (Eric) Johannsen elected as President, Elizabeth Pritchard as Secretary, and June Gifford and Cheryl Layer as organizers of the games for the 1997 reunion. (Many thanks to Don Finless for his time as President, and to Linda and Margo for the ever-popular games and prizes.)
The Treasurer’s report was presented by Sondra Dillabaugh (who continues to serve as Treasurer):
Jim Pritchard reported on the cemetery clean-up in May; this task is becoming easier, but a maple tree will probably have to be removed.
June Gifford handed out the prizes to the winners of the adult contests: Werthers to Douglas Kellogg, Sandra Zed-Finless, and Bob Martin; and mints to Lois Pohlman.
Sondra Dillabaugh offered to host the 1997 reunion.
