Immigration in the 21st Century: The Costs of a Broken System

Princeton University Graduate School’s Office of Academic Affairs and Diversity in conjunction with the Latino Graduate Student Association (LGSA) present their annual symposium, Voz Latina. This year, the symposium will focus on the topic of immigration. The event will provide a scholarly forum to voice concerns, share views and research, and address specific challenges related to immigration and the Latino community.
The symposium will be a two day event (October 14-15, 2011) that will include presentations by academics and government officials who are experts in the field as well as presentations by graduate students. It will focus on the following topics:
Immigration in historical perspective
Demystifying immigration: its role in strengthening the US and its ties with Latin America
The human consequences of current US migration policies
The security costs of the current immigration policy in the United States
The need for immigration reform and current efforts to address this
The symposium will be free and open to all. Registration is now closed.
