Post date: Jan 26, 2010 12:39:48 AM

    1. Pick a Topic and let everyone know what it is within 3 days of our first session. The topic can be on anything related to preventive care (a particular diagnosis, secondary prevention, screening test, etc.). Use AHRQ Guidelines by Topic as a guide.

    2. Know the Guidelines on the topic and be prepared to present these at the next session. (If guidelines don't exist for your particular topic, please be prepared to discuss your topic's broad recommendations from the perspective of the primary literature.

    3. Read and Critically Evaluate the literature (1-2 primary sources) underlying the guidelines that you have studied.

    4. Apply the guidelines with the consideration of the perspective of a subpopulation whom you do currently, or may in the future, serve.

    5. Be aware of the possibilities of disparity within your envisioned patient panel and discuss whether or not the Guidelines (as currently written) would apply to your subpopulation.

    6. Prepare a brief paper using this TEMPLATE to report on the above (1-5).
