The Saskatchewan Premier's Walleye Cup is one of this province's flagship fishing tournaments and one of the largest walleye events in Canada. The Premier's Cup is a two day, live release tournament, with proceeds going back to the preservation of the lake resources and development of the lake facilities. Welcome to the official site of the Premier's Cup.
This is an exciting year for the Premier's Cup. We are celebrating 30 years of tournament fishing. It's hard to believe 30 years ago a group of men from Nipawin got together and came up with the concept of a two day walleye tournament and here we are, 30 years later, still going strong!
The 2017 Premier's Cup will kick off on Thursday, August 10, 2017 with the Premier's Cup Boat Parade on Main Street, where the year's competitors will have an opportunity to show off their boats. Each year prizes are awarded for the best boats, and competitors are encouraged to decorate and, literally, "showboat". The high caliber of competitors and equipment in the Premier’s Walleye Cup has made this parade a popular local event.
Registration for the tournament begins at 4:00 PM at the Evergreen Centre on August 10, followed by the rules banquet at 6:00 PM. All competitors are required to both register and attend the banquet.
Listed on this site is the entry form, rules, prizes and entry fees for the 2017 Premier's Walleye Cup.
Entries for 2017 were mailed in January to last year's participants. The registrations are starting to come in. If you didn't receive an entry please send an e-mail to us and we'll be sure to get the entry to you. Remember to get your entry and cheque in by May 1 to hold your spot for this year.
Our waiting list is still fairly long. If you would like to get on the waiting list please download a copy of the entry form and mail it in. As teams are given a spot in the tournament your name will move up on the listing. It may take a few years to get in, be patient!!
We are hoping to have some new and exciting sponsors this year to make our 30th year even better.
