The following is a "How To" for quiz & test corrections/retakes. Needs to be completed by the deadline! The deadline is two weeks after the assessment is returned to the student.
Directions are below. PLEASE READ THEM!
In order to be eligible for quiz or test corrections/retake students must complete the following steps:
Directions:
(1) Provide physical proof that you studied by completing this form (click here). DO THIS PART AT HOME or during advisement time. Yes, study and work outside of school like you will have to in the future and just like successful people have done in the past. Middle school is mainly an effort grade IMO.
(2a) At School, complete the test "retake" problems in your math teacher's classroom during Advisement or a "Khan workday." This is to prove your proficiency of the material. Bring your retake form and proof of studying. You may NOT complete this step at home and must complete with your math teacher.
(2b) Scoring: Students need to be able to solve the problems and justify their answers (Show their thinking and/or steps/work) You need to be able to answer these questions correctly AND on your own without help to earn an iB proficiency score of 7. Scores will be adjusted lower based on student work or if they need assistance. If students are not happy with their proficiency they will have to restart the process over again.
Students should study for the retake! You have to be able to solve the problems on your own!
Studying for math: Re-do (re-work) problems from the unit, a review sheet, and/or a quiz/test on another sheet of paper and see if you get the correct answers. Don't simply read over the review/quiz/test. Don't just watch videos; Take notes! See your unit's "Daily Slides" for resources! Use the reassessment form for more ideas.
Students: Daily slides are in google classroom.
Parents: Daily slides are in my calendar on my website homepage. Click the calendar event to open and get the link.
