STUDENTS MUST SIGN IN TO KHAN ACADEMY IN ORDER TO RECEIVE CREDIT!!!
Khan Academy will be used to provide skill practice, fill in gaps from earlier years, allow students to work ahead, and support the content we are working on in class. Each week, students may have 2-5 Recommended Topics to support what we are working on in class. Students should seek help and notify the teacher if they are unable to pass the topic after three attempts. Topics must be completed before the deadline set. Final deadline for Khan topics is 2 weeks after the unit test date.
Students should NOT use calculators while completing Khan unless a calculator appears on the screen.
Grades for recommended skills/exercises are as follows:
Each due date is scored on the IB scale. VIDEOS ARE NOT GRADED. (Lood for the triangle "play" symbol) They are only assigned early on so students know there are help videos.
70% or better on EACH exercise/skill = 8 out of 8 total points, otherwise a 0/8 (50%). M in infinite campus is for missing/unattempted.
If a student is unsure what to do, it is helpful to use the hint button, or click the video to see an explanation of the problem. Often students are reluctant to use the hint because it will mark the problem wrong, however, if it helps them answer the next questions correctly, then there is a chance they can still pass the topic.
