• September 15, 2021 - We welcome postdoctoral fellow Dr. Yogita Soni to our lab! Dr. Yogita received her PhD form NCL Pune, and will be working on bimetallic catalysts for selective oxidation reactions.

• September 1, 2021 - We welcome postdoctoral fellow Dr. Peng Yu to our lab! Dr. Yu received his PhD form UMass Lowell. He will be working on single-atom alloy catalysis for alkane activation.

• June 1, 2021- Undergraduate student Adam Senko received Tufts ChBE summer research scholarship! Congrats!

• December 15, 2020 - Our lab received the NSF CAREER award! This award will support research for understanding effects of surface coverage and catalyst composition on vinyl acetate synthesis.

• September 11, 2020 - Prashant gave a seminar at Colorado School of mines.

• April 1, 2020 - Husain received three academic awards namely, the Anna Quincy Churchill Prize, the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering Prize, and the Benjamin G. Brown Scholarship! Congratulations!

• March 20, 2020 - Jayson selected as a 2020 Tufts Summer Scholar! He will be performing research on hydrocarbon activation catalysis on metal oxides. Congrats!

• November 10, 2019 - Deshlahra gave talks on NOx catalyzed selective oxidation and vinyl acetate synthesis at the AIChE annual meeting in Orlando.

• October 15, 2019 - Prashant gave a seminar at the University of Notre Dame!

• September 10, 2019 - PhD student Sebastián Godoy from CarboCat group in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Concepcion, Chile visits our group for six weeks. Welcome!

• August 28, 2019 - Prashant gave three invited talks at the ACS fall national meeting in San Diego.

• July 1, 2019 - Deshlahra Lab received a Tufts TLA grant to support work on new propane selective oxidation technology.

• June 28, 2019 - Deshlahra Lab attended the 26th North American Catalysis Society Meeting in Chicago. Yilang, Leela and Zhaoru gave oral presentations! Yilang received the Kokes award! Great job everyone!!

• June 4, 2019 - Prashant gave a talk on ethane oxidative dehydrogenation on M1 phase mixed metal oxides at the 12th Natural Gas Conversion Symposium in San Antonio.

• May 17, 2019 - Deshlahra Lab attended the New England Catalysis Society Spring Meeting at Brown University. Yilang presented a poster.

• January 10, 2019 - Prashant gave an invited seminar at BASF in Iselin, NJ.

2018

• December 7, 2018 - The group attended the New England Catalysis Society fall meeting at MIT. Yilang and Zhaoru presented posters.

• November 26, 2018 - Prashant visited the CarboCat group in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Concepcion, Chile and gave a seminar to the department. He also gave a keynote lecture at the X Jornadas Chilenas de Catálisis y Adsorción, a biennial national catalysis meeting, at Termas de Quinamávida, Linares, Chile.

• November 1, 2018 - Prashant gave talks entitled, "Influence of Confinement in Pores of M1 Phase Mixed Oxides on Selective Oxidative Dehydrogenation of Ethane" and "Effect of PdCu Alloy Composition on Reactivity and Selectivity for Ethylene Acetoxidation to Vinyl Acetate," at 2018 AIChE Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh.

• October 5, 2018 - PhD students Adam Twombly and Tong Xiao join the group! Welcome!.

• September 14, 2018 - Our group received renewed XSEDE computing allocation for 2018-2019 with a total of over 3.5 million cpu-hours allocated.

• August 27, 2018 - We received an NSF grant that will support collaborative work with Prof. Steven Suib at UCONN on microporous transition metal oxide catalysts.

• July 5, 2018 - The first paper from work done in our group was published in ACS catalysis. Congrats Leela, Yilang and Sopuru!

• May 24, 2018 - We participated in the New England Catalysis Society spring meeting. Yilang received second prize for poster presentation! Congrats!! Leela gave a great talk! Great Job!!

• May 02, 2018 - Congratulation to Sopuru on successfully defending his senior honors thesis!

• April 1, 2018 - We welcome Konstantin Alscher, a sophomore who will perform research on characterization of metal and oxide catalysts during the summer!

• March 27, 2018 - Husain received Tufts Summer Scholar award! Congrats! He will carry research on computational design of doped III-V semiconductors.

• March 19, 2018 - Prof. Deshlahra delivered a talk on reactivity and selectivity descriptors for C-H bond activation on oxides at the 255th ACS National Meeting in New Orleans.

• January 22, 2018 - We welcome Chris Drover to our group! He will work during the spring semester on developing efficient methods for calculating classical electrostatic interactions among ion-pairs relevant to acid catalysis.

2017

• November 1, 2017 - Yilang and Leela presented talks at the AIChE Meeting in Minnesota. Great Job!

• September 15, 2017 - We received a renewal research computing allocation from XSEDE.

• July 28, 2017 - Our lab collaborated with the Upward Bound Math Science project at Boston University School of Education and hosted high school interns who performed experiments in the lab and learned about heterogeneous catalysis.

• July 05, 2017 - Prashant delivered invited lectures at CSIR – National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (NIIST) and Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) in Trivendrum, India.

• June 27, 2017 - Prashant received ACS PRF Doctoral New Investigator Award, which will support kinetic and theoretical studies of vinyl acetate synthesis on palladium based bimetallic catalysts.

• June 15, 2017 - Profs. Prashant Deshlahra and Charlie Sykes and Dr. James Vlahakis received Tufts Collaborates grant, which will support their collaborative work on microporous mixed metal oxides.

• June 14, 2017 - Prashant and Yilang attended the 25th meeting of the North American Catalysis Society in Denver. Prashant presented the group's work on confinement effects in redox catalysis. Yilang presented a poster on oxidative conversion of ethane on oxide domains.

• October 12, 2016 - The Deshlahra Lab received an award from Tufts's Faculty Research Fund to pursue research on understanding the effect of surface coverage on infrared spectra of molecules on catalyst surfaces.

• September 15, 2016 - The Deshlahra Lab received a research allocation from the Extreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment (XSEDE), which will provide access to supercomputing resources for catalysis research.
