Games are meant for adults, too – and apps are meant for kids, too 😊

Finding the right app is like finding a perfect partner. Once you commit, you’re in it for the long game. Always choose apps from developers who have a track record so the apps don't get abandoned. I have over 500 apps/games on my iPad and these are some of the BEST.

NOTE: You can find the equivalent counterparts for most of these iOS / iPadOS apps on macOS desktop too (Mac App Store).

APPLE Mail (multiple accounts), Calendar, Reminders, Messages – these apps have come a long way and are very POWERFUL and highly usable now!

Calendar vs Reminders – when to use which app?

We can use Apple apps with tight integration with SIRI and dictation to create a calendar event, reminder, note, set an alarm, read email/voicemail, etc.

FANTASTICAL (free version) – shows both Apple Calendar and Reminders in one app and works on macOS, iPadOS, iOS, watchOS with plenty of cool Widgets including quick access to Calendar & Reminders from the Menu Bar icon! This is by far the most powerful calendar app with natural language recognition as you type with a gradient heat-map of calendar that offers many free features good enough for most people. If it doesn't allow to set any attributes in the free version like Colors, Travel Time (paid features), just use the Apple Calendar or Reminders apps or the free Vantage app (below) to access/set all the attributes and view them all in Fantastical.

Completely free VANTAGE calendar for iOS and iPadOS only – shows both Apple Calendar & Reminders in one app with cool time-machine/Star Wars animations and a lot of themes (dark, light, etc). Creates a "Vantage Inbox" inside Reminders (do not rename/delete this list in Reminders – you will lose all entries in it!). On the iPhone, swipe from left of the screen border to the right to view the (Vantage) Inbox of Reminders and swipe from right to left for Day/Week view of the Calendar. On the iPad, there are 2 icons on the bottom left to switch views between Calendar and Reminders inbox.

APP BUYING ADVICE: If an app comes in free and Paid versions, do NOT buy the free version – even if you want to try before buying. Read AppStore/online reviews, watch YouTube videos about it and make a decision. If you like it, buy the PAID version. This is because if you buy the free version and later upgrade to paid version from within the free app, it's icon will still show as a free app (Eg: SampleTank) on your device – even though you have paid for it and all paid features are available to you.
