The Plant Physiological Ecology Laboratory is housed in the Biology Department at Buffalo State University. We investigate how plants interact with, and influence, their environment from the scale of leaves to ecosystems. We are driven by questions related to anthropogenic global change such as nonnative plant invasions, urbanization, land-use intensification, and changing patterns of precipitation variability associated with climate change.

To address these questions, we combine traditional methods in community and physiological ecology with approaches adopted from soil science, hydrology, and micrometeorology.
