Research

My research deals with design, synthesis, spectroscopy and electrochemistry of porphyrin based Donor-Acceptor systems. During this study we will optimize the factors that govern the light-induced energy transfer (EnT) and electron transfer (ET) mechanisms between various photo and redox active components. These two fundamental processes(EnT & ET) are not only help us in better understanding of natural photosynthesis but also they provide critical insights towards the construction of artificial photosynthetic systems as well as light induced molecular machines. In addition, my research also focuses on photodynamic therapy (PDT) for cancer detection and treatment.
