The Plumbers of Rome are a trio of accomplished musicians who sing fantastic, creative, deconstructionist renditions of popular music and kooky-cerebral original songs. Exploring the limits of the human voice, the Plumbers of Rome combine traditional vocal discipline with modern techniques and technology to build amazing musical textures with their three voices. Their mind-bending musical show combines virtuosic singing, sound effects, human beatboxing, and live-looping with performing skills gleaned from decades in contemporary a cappella groups, musical theater, improv comedy, choirs, bands, orchestras, street theater, and more.
The Plumbers of Rome have performed across the United States, and have been invited to perform in Austria and Australia. They present shows for schools, theaters, and public concert programs, and actively create original multi-media projects for international distribution.
On the strength of their refined musicality, powerful performing skills, and unconventional stage presentation, Plumbers of Rome won the 2010 International Harmony Sweepstakes, the “super bowl” of a cappella singing.
Mister Tim is one of the most innovative minds in modern a cappella music. He is the creator of more than a dozen award-winning a cappella groups, including the vocal rock band THROAT (2011 Rocky Mountain Harmony Sweepstakes champions), beatbox collaborative and instructional resource Mouth Beats (youtube.com/mouthbeats1, 2009 Rocky Mountain Harmony Sweepstakes champions), a cappella cover band Wonder Voice, and the 2010 Harmony Sweepstakes grand champions Plumbers of Rome. He is an accomplished choral, classical, and contemporary musician, performer, and composer. He was a headliner on the Las Vegas strip, is a sought-after clinician for vocal music, and currently tours the United States with his one-man all-vocal looping performances.
Richard Steighner
represents a new generation of vocal artists: a freaky-skilled beatboxer, talented singer, and overall brilliant musician. He sang with CU-Boulder’s award-winning co-ed a cappella group Mile 21 and Denver’s longest- running a cappella act The 17th Avenue All-Stars. He has become an essential part of multiple award-winning groups, including Confidential, moosebutter, Mouth Beats, and Plumbers of Rome, and is now being seen by millions of a cappella fans as the drummer for Urban Method on season 3 of NBC's The Sing-Off.
Peter Driscoll is and has been an indispensable part of some of the most successful a cappella acts to ever come out of Colorado. He was the music director for the award-winning Mile 21 mixed a cappella group from the University of Colorado-Boulder and currently sings with Rocky Mountain Harmony Sweepstakes champions Confidential (2010) and THROAT (2011) as well as 2010 International Harmony Sweepstakes Finals champions Plumbers of Rome. A graduate of CU-Boulder with a business degree, he is currently finishing a secondary degree in music education.
