Women's Centre of Campbell River

25th Anniversary Gala Program - March 2008

I had a week to pull this project together. My assignment was to create a simple program booklet for a 25th Anniversary Gala.

The program needed to :

• • • promote the evening's activities

    • convey messages from the gala's presenters, the Women's Centre and the Arts Council

    • advertise local businesses who sponsored the Silent Auction

    • celebrate the Women's Centre's history and accomplishments

    • promote the art exhibit and International Women's Day

The finished project went beyond the client's expectations. As publisher of the program, I did the following:

• • • contacted female artists worldwide for permission to use their images

    • designed a cover successfully combining the themes of art and International Women's Day

    • designed ads for Silent Auction sponsors 

    • wrote brief articles about the Women's Centre and International Women's Day

    • created a timeline showing accomplishments of the Women's Centre over the years

    • found documents and photographs at the Campbell River Museum archives, giving the booklet compelling images from the past.
