Piet Kommers


Piet Kommers became interested in Adaptive Text Presentation during his Masters Study at Utrecht University in 1979 and invented Conceptual Representations for Hypertext in 1982. His journal articles focus on educational technologies for learning. As professor at the University of Twente he taught courses on A.I. and knowledge representations for media design. His book 'Sources for a Better Education' introduces Deep Learning for becoming an even better teacher. Piet Kommers was Chair of the Nato Advanced Workshop 'Cognitive Tools for Learning'. Since 2002 Piet was Chair of the IADIS Conferences and Main Editor of the Journal 'Web-Based Communities'. He was awarded with the Honorary Professor title by UNESCO and Capital Normal University in Beijing. His books exemplify that human learning is one of the most diverse processes on earth and need a continuous awareness for the best possible education.
