PROFILE SUMMARY

I am a Full Professor of Finance at the School of Economics and Management, University of Porto (FEP.UP), where I teach various undergraduate and graduate courses in finance, such as Corporate Finance and Real Options. Additionally, I am an Integrated Researcher at the Research Center in Economics and Finance (CEF-UP). Currently, I hold the position of Director of the PhD Program in Business and Management Studies (FEP-U.Porto). Previously, from 2011 to 2019, I was the Director of the Master in Finance Programme. I earned the title of Agregado (Habil.) in Management from the School of Economics and Management, University of Porto, in 2018, and a PhD in Business Administration (with a focus on Finance) from the School of Economics and Management, University of Minho, in 2006. 

RESEARCH & PUBLICATIONS

My research interests encompass Real Options Theory, Investment under Uncertainty, and Continuous Time Dynamic Models in Corporate Finance.

I have published in the following academic journals: Journal of Corporate Finance,  European Journal of Operational Research, European Financial Management, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Economic Dynamics & Control, European Journal of Finance, Quantitative Finance, among others.
