Joe Sacchetti Jr. Student, 3rd Kyu
Following the tenets and philosophy of Morihei Ueshiba, father of modern Aikido: that there should be a peaceful resolution to a harmful, or even deadly confrontation, Kim Rivers ( 5th Dan ), founder of Eibara Aikido/Labrys Self-Defence, practices and teaches Aikido. Sensei Rivers helps students learn to harmonize with the opponent's energy and movements, and if necessary to use, or redirect this energy to overcome the opponent. Teaching techniques that can blend with, or incapacitate an aggressor, Sensei Rivers blends soft with hard that lie at the core of the art, meticulously preserving the methods, or style of her instructors and practitioners who have come before. Demonstrating Aikido as beautiful art form as well as an effective martial style, Sensei Rivers and Eibara Aikido/Labrys Self-Defence conveys this in ways that most can understand, learn, and enjoy.. -Thu Sep 07 2017
