8/25 Many faces of great teaching
Action item to be done before class today
Reflect on 5 great teachers you have experienced in your lifetime. It may be that they were great in a specific aspect of their teaching, and you want to focus on that. They may have taught in any context (not necessarily only traditional classroom teachers) and then document in some way your thoughts on why you thought they were great. Try to be as specific as you can and challenge yourself to understand what was happening in those moments you felt they facilitated your learning in some exceptional way. You can journal, or use a video, or audio recording. The actual documentation will not be turned in, but we will discuss it in class. The purpose of documenting it is to focus your reflection. My advice is to pick one a day and dedicate 20 minutes to this reflective exercise for each one.
