Yukie Nishimura

Yukie Nishimura (西村由紀江), born in 1967, began her piano studies at age three, and is one of the most famous Japanese female pianists. She attended the Toho Gakuen School of Music, Tokyo, Japan and won the Yamaha Junior Original Concert Music Award.

In 1986, Ms. Nishimura released her first solo album Angelique, which was followed by more than twenty albums. Her work concentrates on piano compositions, but she has also composed soundtracks for Japanese TV drama series. Representative of these is the drama The 101st Proposal. When the soundtrack was released it charted #3 and sold more than 350,000 copies, gaining her recognition. Her album sales have reached Gold levels. Yukie Nishimura has performed in Europe, the U.S, and all over Southeast Asia.
