Unforgettable

Unforgettable is a famous song written by Irving Gordon. The most popular version, inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2000, was recorded by Nat King Cole in 1951, with an arrangement written by Nelson Riddle. In 1991, Cole's 1962 recording of the song was edited and remixed to create a duet, with his daughter Natalie, that won three 1992 Grammy Awards: Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Traditional Pop Vocal Performance.

Irving Gordon (1915 - 1996) was an American songwriter. In addition to Unforgettable, he wrote Allentown Jail, Mister and Mississippi, and Delaware, the latter of which which was a hit for Perry Como. Gordon told the Los Angeles Times that by 1960 the vogue for rhymed words and hummable melodies had passed, "So I became a tennis pro. I have many lives."
