Time in a Bottle

Time in a Bottle is a hit 1973 single by singer-songwriter Jim Croce, and is included in his 1972 album You Don't Mess Around with Jim. Both the single and the album were ranked number-one by Billboard magazine. The song's lyrics deal with immortality and the wish to have more time. The song has been covered by many artists, including Roger Williams and Glen Campbell. In 1977, "Time in a Bottle" was used as the title for a compilation album of Croce's love songs.

Jim Croce (1943 - 1973) was an American singer-songwriter. Between 1966 and 1973, Croce released five albums and eleven singles. His singles Bad, Bad Leroy Brown and Time in a Bottle were both ranked number-one by Billboard magazine. He died tragically in an airplane crash in 1973. In 1990, Jim Croce was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
