The Look of Love

"The Look of Love" was written by Burt Bacharach as an instrumental. Later Hal David added the lyrics, and the song was published in 1967. It was originally recorded by Dusty Springfield for the 1967 spoof James Bond film Casino Royale. The soundtrack received an Oscar nomination and reached the US Top 40. Since then, the song has become synonymous with lounge and easy listening music. Sergio Mendes' performance of it during the 1968 Academy Awards telecast, propelled it to#4 on the pop charts.

Over the decades, it has been covered by dozens of well-known artists such as Dionne Warwick, Diana Ross & The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Gladys Knight & The Pips, Diana Krall, Chris Botti, Philippine bossa nova singer Sitti, Australian Tina Arena (2007). Shelby Lynne's 2008 album, Just a Little Lovin', pays tribute to Springfield.

The song was used in films and is a demo song in the Yamaha DGX-series keyboards.
