The Long and Winding Road is a 1970 song written by Paul McCartney and John Lennon from the Beatles' album Let It Be. It became the group's 20th and last number-one song in the United States in June 1970, and was the last single released by the quartet. This famous song has been covered by numerous artists, including Diana Ross, Johnny Mathis, Aretha Franklin, Andy Williams, Ray Charles and Count Basie, Olivia Newton-John, and Kiri Te Kanawa.
