The King's Speech

The King's Speech in a piece from the soundtrack of the award-winning 2010 movie with the same name. It was composed by Alexandre Desplat who wrote the complete soundtrack. He used a minimalist approach with a sparse arrangement of strings and piano. The score was nominated for several awards including Best Original Score at the Oscars and the Golden Globes. In 2011, it won the BAFTA Award (British Academy of Film and Television Arts).

Alexandre Desplat (born 1961) is a French movie-composer. In addition to several Academy Award nominations, BAFTA nominations, and Golden Globe nominations, he has received a BAFTA award (for The King's Speech) and a Golden Globe award (for The Painted Veil). Desplat has worked on several other successful films, including The Queen, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, New Moon, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and both parts of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
