Speed of Sound

"Speed of Sound" is a song by English alternative rock band Coldplay. The song was released in the United States as the lead single from X&Y and has reached number eight on the Billboard Hot 100. It was released in the United Kingdom in 2005, and reached number two in the UK Charts.

Although it was recognized Song of the Year by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), the song received only mixed reviews from critics. "Speed of Sound" was nominated twice at the 48th Grammy Awards. The song won a Brit Award in the category for Best British Single in 2006. The single's music video was nominated for four MTV Video Music Awards.
