Written by Adele and by Dan Wilson, Someone Like You is a song from Adele's album 21. Inspired by a broken relationship, the song topped the charts in Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States, as well as reaching the top ten in many other countries.
Adele (born in 1988) is English singer and songwriter. Among her releases are two studio albums, 19 (in 2008) and 21 (in 2011). (Each of the numbers 19 and 21 refers to her age at the time she started recording the album.) For the album 19, she won several awards, including the Critic's Choice at the Brit Awards, a European Border Breakers Award for Best Album, and a Grammy Award for Best New Artist. For the album 21, her awards included six Grammys. By 2012, Adele had received 47 awards and 102 nominations, including eight Grammy Awards.
