Right Here Waiting

Written by Richard Marx, Right Here Waiting is a song on his 1989 album Repeat Offender. Marx wrote the song as a letter to his wife, actress Cynthia Rhodes. The song ranked number-one on the Billboard Hot 100, and number-two in the United Kingdom. It has been covered by many other artists, including Monica, Julio Inglesias, and Barry Manilow.

Richard Marx (born in 1963) is an American singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer. His hit singles in the late 1980s and the 1990s include Endless Summer Nights, Right Here Waiting, Now and Forever, and Hazard. Although most of his major hit songs are slow ballads, many of his songs have a classic rock style. Marx is the first solo artist to have each of his first seven singles rank among the top-five on the Billboard Hot 100.
