Put Your Head on My Shoulder is a song written by singer-songwriter Paul Anka. His 1959 single, arranged and conducted by Don Costa, reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. There have been several covers of the song, including the 1968 version by The Lettermen and the 2003 arrangement by Michael Buble.
Paul Anka (born in 1941) is a Canadian-born singer, songwriter, and actor who became a United States citizen. He became a teen-idol in the late 1950s and the 1960s, when he wrote and recorded the songs Diana, Lonely Boy, and Put Your Head on My Shoulder. Later he wrote the musical theme for the television program The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, the Tom Jones hit song She's a Lady, the English lyrics for Frank Sinatra's signature song My Way (originally the French song Comme d'habitude), and the 1983 song I Never Heard (co-written with Michael Jackson and re-released in 2009 with the name This Is It). Paul Anka is a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
