Piano Man

Piano Man was Billy Joel's first major hit and his signature song. It was released as a single in 1973 and has been on several of his albums. Written by Joel, it is a fictionalized retelling of his experience as a piano-lounge singer.

Billy Joel (born in 1949) is an American pianist, singer-songwriter, and classical composer. He had Top 40 hits in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, all of which he wrote himself. He is a six time Grammy Award winner, a twenty-three time Grammy nominee, and has sold over 150 million records worldwide.

He was inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame (1992), the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (1999), and the Hit Parade Hall of Fame (2009). In 2008, he was ranked number twenty-three on Billboard magazine's list of the Hot 100 All-Time Top Artists.
