Oskar Merikanto (1868 - 1924) was a Finnish musician and composer. Notable for a variety of talents, he gave concerts in Finland, performed on the piano and organ, conducted orchestras, and composed music. Among his most popular compositions are Där björkarna susa (Where the Birches Whistle) and the waltz Kesäillan valssi (Summernight's Waltz).
