Soundtrack Songs

Released in 1972, Once Upon a Time in the West is the soundtrack composed by Ennio Morricone for the 1968 movie with the same name. Several songs from the soundtrack were featured in the 1989 movie The Burbs featuring Tom Hanks and Carrie Fisher. Man with the Harmonica, a song from the soundtrack, was used in the 2006 movie Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, and in the 2007 movie Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. The soundtrack sold about ten-million copies worldwide.

In 2005, Time magazine chose Once Upon a Time in the West as one of the one-hundred greatest movies of the twentieth century. The movie was named to the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress (United States) in 2009.

Ennio Morricone (born in 1928) is an Italian composer and conductor who wrote music for more than 500 movies and television series. His scores have been included in over twenty award-winning movies, and he has written several symphonic and choral pieces. Morricone is most famous for his work in the so-called "Spaghetti Westerns" such as A Fistful of Dollars (1964), For a Few Dollars More (1965) , The Good, Bad and the Ugly (1966), and Once Upon a Time in the West (1968). Among his many awards is an Honorary Academy Award for career achievement.
